Good to know

Why bulk downloaders often save Shorts at 480p

Most bulk tools apply a quality cap like "1080p" by checking a video's height in pixels. That works for ordinary landscape videos, where 1080p means 1920 × 1080. A Short is vertical: its 1080p version is 1080 × 1920, which is 1920 pixels tall. A height limit of 1080 rejects it and falls back to the next version that fits under 1080, which is usually 480 × 854.

The result is a whole channel of Shorts saved at 480p while the tool reports 1080p. We hit exactly this in testing before fixing it.

Our quality cap uses the shorter side of the frame, the way the industry names resolutions. 1080p means 1920 × 1080 for a landscape video and 1080 × 1920 for a Short. Choose "Up to 1080p" and both arrive at full 1080p, with H.264 video and AAC sound so they play anywhere.

DeliveryOne file at a time as each finishes, or everything in a single ZIP. On your own computer, straight into a folder named after the channel
PaceTwo videos at a time, so YouTube does not start blocking requests

If it does not work

"No YouTube channel was found with that name"
Names are searched the way YouTube's search does, and the top channel result is used. If that is the wrong channel, enter the @handle or paste the channel link instead.
"This channel has nothing in that tab"
Not every channel has Shorts or past live streams. Switch to Videos.
Some videos say Failed
Members-only, private and age-restricted videos cannot be fetched without a login. The rest of the queue carries on.
Many failures in a row with a "not a bot" message
YouTube is limiting requests. Cancel, wait 10 to 15 minutes, then download the remaining videos.
Transcripts fail for some videos
Those videos have no captions in the language code you entered. Try the video's own language, for example es or hi.

Questions people ask

How do I download all videos from a YouTube channel?

Enter the channel's name, @handle or link, press Download, click Select all, choose a format and press Download again. Videos download two at a time, each with its own progress.

Can I download a channel by its name only?

Yes. Type the name, for example Veritasium, and we use YouTube's channel search to find it. For an exact match, use the @handle.

Can I download only the Shorts from a channel?

Yes. After the channel loads, switch to the Shorts tab, select all, and download. The quality cap works correctly for vertical video.

Can I download a YouTube playlist?

Yes. Paste the playlist link (it contains list=). Every video in the playlist is listed and can be ticked.

How many videos can I download at once?

The list shows up to 5,000 videos per section. Downloads run two at a time; a large channel can take hours, and you can leave the page open while it works.

Can I download all transcripts of a channel?

Yes. Choose Transcript (TXT) or Subtitles (SRT) and enter a language code such as en. Videos without captions in that language are marked as failed.

Where are the files saved?

Online, each finished file can be saved individually or all together as a ZIP. On a personal setup running on your own computer, they go into a folder named after the channel in your Downloads folder.

Is it allowed to download a whole channel?

Downloading your own channel, or one whose owner allows it, is the safe case. YouTube's terms restrict downloading by other means. This is general information, not legal advice.
