How to download from YouTube playlist

Copy the playlist's own link
Open the playlist page, the one that shows the list of videos, and copy the address. Or tap Share on the playlist, then Copy link. In the YouTube app, Share on the playlist works the same way.

Paste it and press Show videos
This page opens on the Whole channel tab. We list the videos in the playlist's own order, each with its length. The first 50 appear at once; Load 50 more videos, or All, brings the rest.

Tick the videos
Press All to tick the whole playlist, or 10, 25, 50 or 100 to tick the first ones. Type a word in Find a video by name to narrow the list. Private and deleted places are already left out.

Choose the files and start
Untick the files you do not need, set Video quality and press Download selected. Two videos download at a time. Save each file when it says Ready, or press Download all as ZIP at the end.

Why a link from a playing playlist saves one video, not the playlist
A YouTube playlist has two kinds of link. The playlist page has its own: youtube.com/playlist?list= followed by the playlist's id. But while a playlist plays, the address bar shows watch?v= with the video's id, then &list= with the playlist's id, and often &index= for its place in the list. Most people copy that second link, because it is the one in front of them.
That link names one video first, so a downloader reads it as that video. We tested this on 14 October 2026 with Crash Course Geology. The playlist page link, the phone app's Share link and the m. and music. versions each listed all 21 videos. The watch link, its &index=3 version and the youtu.be short link with ?list= each gave only the one video. None of the ranking playlist downloaders we read explains this. So the page now tells you when a video link came from a playlist and offers Show the whole playlist. On this page, which opens on the Whole channel tab, such a link lists the playlist at once.
Three kinds of list look like playlists but are not. A Mix (list=RD…) is made up for each viewer and keeps growing, and YouTube answers "This playlist type is unviewable". Watch later (list=WL) and Liked videos (list=LL) belong to your signed-in account, so YouTube tells everyone else "The playlist does not exist". Before this page, our messages for these read like a missing video. Now they say which kind of list you pasted and what to do instead.

If it does not work
- Only one video downloaded, not the playlist
- The link had watch?v= in it, so it named the video that was playing. Press Show the whole playlist, or copy the link from the playlist page or from Share on the playlist.
- "This is a YouTube Mix."
- A Mix has no fixed list, so it cannot be downloaded as one. Paste one video, or a normal playlist: after list= its id usually starts with PL.
- "Watch later, Liked videos and the other lists YouTube makes for your account are private."
- Make a new playlist set to Public or Unlisted, save the videos to it, then paste that playlist's link.
- "That is 305 files. Up to 300 files can wait at once."
- Every ticked file counts: five files for each of 61 videos is 305. Untick the files you do not need (Video alone is one file), or tick fewer videos and download the rest in a second round.
- "That is 250 videos at once; the limit is 200."
- Tick up to 200 videos and start them. When they finish, tick the next ones: Find a video by name helps you pick up where you stopped.
- "That video is longer than the limit we can process."
- Videos over 3 hours are refused in every format, sound only included. Untick them and download the rest. Programming and lecture playlists often hold a few.
- "(video name): this video's download button has expired."
- A listed playlist works for 30 minutes. Paste the playlist link again, tick the videos and start the download straight away.

Questions people ask
Can you download a whole playlist from YouTube?
Yes, when the playlist is public. Paste its link, press All to tick every video, and start. We list up to 5,000 videos of one playlist, and downloads go in rounds of up to 200 videos.
How do you download a YouTube playlist?
Copy the playlist's own link (it has playlist?list= in it), paste it above and press Show videos. Tick the videos, choose the files and press Download selected. The steps with pictures are in the guide at https://raptordownloader.com/docs/website/whole-channel/.
How to download a YouTube playlist all at once?
Press All, then Download selected. A list of more than 200 videos, or more than 300 files with everything ticked, goes in rounds: start the first round, and tick the next videos when it finishes.
Is there a limit on playlist size?
We list up to 5,000 videos of one playlist. In our test, NASA's uploads list, which YouTube counts at 6,192 videos, stopped at 5,000 after 38 seconds. Each video may be up to 3 hours long and about 1 GB.
Can I download only selected videos from a playlist?
Yes. Untick the ones you do not want, press 10, 25, 50 or 100 to tick the first ones, or type a word in Find a video by name and tick what matches.
Can I download private or unlisted playlists?
Private ones, no. YouTube says private videos and playlists "can only be seen by you and whomever you choose", and we never sign in. Unlisted playlists "can be seen and shared by anyone with the link", YouTube says, so paste the link you were given.
Can I download YouTube playlists from my phone?
Yes. In the YouTube app, open the playlist, tap Share, then Copy link, and paste it here in your phone's browser. Finished files save through the browser, like any other download.
Can you download a YouTube playlist to watch offline?
YouTube Premium lets you download playlists to watch offline inside the YouTube app. This tool gives you ordinary MP4 or MP3 files instead, which play in any player, for videos you are allowed to save.
Is it legal to download YouTube playlists?
YouTube's terms allow downloading only where YouTube offers it, or with permission. Your own playlists, Creative Commons videos and courses whose owner allows it are the safe cases. This is general information, not legal advice.
