How to download from Instagram Reels

Copy the particular Reel
Open the Reel itself and use Share, then Copy link. On a computer, copy its own address when the Reel is open. A profile address, an audio page or the Instagram homepage does not identify the clip. If you are browsing a grid, open the tile you want first.

Each is checked separately, so one unavailable post does not make the others invalid. A post requiring a login may be unavailable to the website even when it plays in your signed-in app.

Choose video, audio or the cover
Pick a listed video size to keep picture and sound, Audio only for MP3, or the cover picture. Use the displayed sizes rather than assuming every Reel has 1080p. Captions and other choices appear only when the source provides the information needed. Review your selection before starting the download.

Find the saved file
On Android, check the browser Downloads list and your Download folder. In Safari on iPhone, open the Downloads button or Files, then Downloads. Open a compatible video and use Share, then Save Video if that action is available. A successful browser download can remain in Files without appearing automatically in Photos.

A Reel audio page is not the Reel you want to save
Instagram has separate addresses for profiles, individual posts and pages grouping clips that use the same audio. Copying the audio title can take you to an audio page rather than the video you just watched. MP3 here starts with the individual Reel link and keeps the sound available in that clip. It does not obtain the entire original song merely because Instagram displays its name.
On 13 October 2026 we checked three public Reels from the 1920agency account through the production extraction route. Their highest listed video heights were 716, 638 and 716 pixels, with smaller versions also available. All three offered video, audio and a cover picture. We downloaded one MP4 and received 632,039 bytes of video data. This is a small sample from one account, not a platform-wide success rate or a promise about every upload.
Choose the largest listed version when detail matters, or a smaller one when storage matters. Choosing MP3 changes the file type and removes the picture; it cannot restore missing audio or improve the recording. Likewise, saving a video cannot remove text or a logo already drawn into its frames. The choices after checking the link describe the particular post rather than an advertised resolution.

Keep your own published Reel
Save an offline copy of a public Reel you created. Keep your original editing file too: a social-media copy can have different resolution and compression. Check the Reel menu for Instagram's own Download action when available; that may be the simplest option for your post.
Listen to the available clip audio
Choose MP3 for a spoken explanation or interview you have permission to save. It covers the sound available in that Reel, including speech and background sound. A music attribution does not provide a separate download of the full song. If the post supplies no accessible sound track, the tool cannot create MP3 from it.
Review several public posts
Paste particular post addresses together and compare the file choices before saving. The extension can send a selected post to the website. Browser profile collection helps gather loaded links for selection, but does not guarantee that older, unloaded posts have been collected. Review the list before choosing downloads.

- Open the actual video and copy its post link. A /reel/ or /p/ address identifies the item; a username alone does not. Use profile collection to gather loaded posts instead of treating a profile address as one video.
- The Reel plays in Instagram but cannot be read here
- The post may require a login, be private, have been removed, or Instagram may temporarily refuse the server. Check whether it opens without signing in. If public, try again later. The website does not ask for your password or make a private post public.
- There is no 1080p or 4K choice
- The options reflect the versions Instagram supplies for this post. Select the largest listed size. Our three checked Reels did not list 1080p, so this page makes no blanket HD promise. Downloading cannot add detail absent from the source.
- The file is in Files but not iPhone Photos
- Open the saved MP4 in Files and look for Share, then Save Video. That action depends on compatibility with Photos. Keep the file in Files and use a compatible player if Save Video is unavailable. The iPhone guide below explains format issues.
- The result is a cover rather than a full carousel
- A cover option saves the displayed cover, not automatically every item in a multi-image post. Open the exact post and review the options listed. A profile-grid thumbnail does not establish that the entire carousel or video has been captured.

Can I download every Reel from a username?
A username identifies an account rather than one clip. The browser extension can collect links loaded on a profile you can view for selection here. It cannot promise a complete history or make login-only posts readable by the server.
Does pasting a link download automatically?
No. Raptor reads the link and shows choices first. You decide which files to download. This also applies when the extension brings a video link to the website.
